What’s In My Makeup Bag

I know I haven’t talked about makeup in a while – probably because I haven’t been buying a lot of it recently. I’ve been very much on the minimal side of things and gravitating toward the same products every single day. I think it’s fair to say that I’ve found some serious makeup favourites that I just don’t want to switch up. If you’re interested to see what I’ve been loving lately, here is a look inside my makeup bag.

For my base, I’ve been using the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation which is similar to a tinted moisturiser and perfect for days when you want light coverage with a luminous finish. I’m not into contouring, but I love using the Charlotte Tilbury Bronze & Glow Palette to add a bit of definition to my face.  Both the bronzer and the highlighter are very easy to apply and look very subtle and natural on the skin, which I love. The brush I use with this palette is the Powder & Sculpt brush by Charlotte Tilbury, just because they were recommended together, but you can use any brush you like. My favourite concealer for a long time has been the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. It is just a cult classic that works great for covering dark circles or any imperfections on the skin. I switch between Vanilla and Custard or mix the two together depending on how tanned I am. To set my makeup and for touch ups during the day, I use the Chanel Poudre Universelle Compacte.  I have shade Translucent 1 which is completely invisible on the skin, but has a slightly blurring and mattifying effect which I love about it.

For my eyebrows, I use the Glossier Boy Brow Gel either on its own or on top of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, which is my absolute favourite brow pencil – mine is currently broken, so I desperately need a new one! The mascara I’ve been wearing the most over the past few months is the Smashbox Super Fan Mascara. It claims to give a false lash look, which I wouldn’t say is how it works for me, but it definitely gives good length and separation to the lashes and stays on all day without flaking. Another eye makeup product I love is the MAC Teddy Eye Kohl. I much prefer brown eyeliner over black, especially for daytime makeup. This one is very creamy and pigmented with a tiny bit of shimmer in it, so looks really beautiful. Plus, it doesn’t smudge on me, so bonus points for that. I have to mention the Burberry Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen. I love using it after I’ve done my eye makeup to highlight the Inner corners of my eyes and the brow bones.

My go-to lip products at the moment are the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner and Matte Revolution Lipstick both in the shade Pillow Talk. This is probably the most universal nude-pink shade that seems to suit every skin tone. I also love the Chanel Le Rouge Crayon in No.1 Nude and Burberry Kisses Lipstick in Peach Delight No.57. Both are gorgeous neutral shades with a satin finish and a hydrating formula – the formula is really important to me, because I hate lipsticks that dry out my lips. For lip balm, I’ve been using the By Terry Baume de Rose Crystalline. It’s a very luxurious product with a lovely rose scent and a shiny, gloss-like finish, but I have to admit that it’s a bit of an unnecessary splurge, so I’m not sure if I’ll be repurchasing.

Finally, I always carry a mini perfume in my makeup bag and the one I’m using at the moment is the Dior Ambre Nuit. It’s a sample I was given when I purchased the Dior Fève Délicieuse. I’m really bad at describing scents, so not even going to try with these ones, but if you love bold, unique scents, definitely check these out. They are expensive, but very long-lasting and a little goes a long way, so I would highly recommend the range.
