If you’ve seen my summer wardrobe wishlist 2018, you’ll know that one of the items I wanted to get a couple of months ago was a red dress – more specifically, the Réalisation Alexandra dress. I actually ended up buying this dress in the navy colour and then a different one also from Réalisation in red. It’s called the Venus dress and is from their latest summer collection. I’m totally in love with it! It’s 100% silk, fully lined and has adjustable tie-string to be worn on or off the shoulder. I have to point out that it’s a very short dress, so something to be aware of if you’re quite tall.
You might be thinking that this post is coming a bit late, because I’m talking about a very summery dress and we are in mid-September, but I’m not ready to take it out of my wardrobe just yet. There’s always a way to make your favourite summer dresses work for autumn. It’s all about layering! The easiest thing you can do is throw a jumper or an oversized cardigan on top and add a pair of boots. You can also try layering your dress over a t-shirt or a thin roll neck jumper. As it gets colder, I know I’m going to be bringing out the tights and the over-the-knee boots which can make any dress look autumn appropriate. If you don’t like wearing tights but want to keep your legs warm, try wearing a pair of jeans or leather trousers underneath your dress. This can work with either short or long dresses and can look really stylish and cool. For extra warmth, just add a big scarf and a jacket and you have a whole new outfit!
